End of Days, year 2005

Finally year 2005 is breathing its last breathes. One of the most glorious year of my life is in its last moments . This year i completed my graduation and many other things. I have many things to remember, that happened this year.

I celebrated the first day of year 2005 by visiting the grand museum of BHU "The Bharat Kala Bhawan", along with Rajat, Aviral, Baba, Nimish, Durgi, yadav and many more A really great collection of history.
That followed by our visit to Sarnath to attain a bit of salvation. We completed the historical trinity by completing the visit of "Shri Vishwanath Mandir". The epitome of the everlasting religion.
This year also witnessed the so called "CRUSADE" by the students of 4th CSE against hippocracy of fellow BHU'ians. This year also witnessed the graduation of batch of 2005. Hats off to BHU, for giving a great batch of Computer engineers to the country. 3 gems of the batch joined Foreign universities this year only and many more are aspiring for it. We all have joined our respective companies this year only.
This year i also experinced duel with some of my best friends, whom i think very capable in debating and many other things. This year everything fitted perfectly in its slot (save one thing, my friends know it) and i hope the next year will behave in the same manner.
This year i read some of the best books including "Jonathan Livingston Seagull", a fable, given by my Project Manager, "FountainHead", "Main Kampf", "Alchemist" and many more.
Once again a year is lost and i am not able to decide about my future. MS/PHD, MBA, IAS or an Archeologist, very hazy about my future. Dont know which way to go. I hope this year will bring the right decisions to me. Good bye "The Best year of My life" 2005.
" vicory without danger is a triumph without glory", this line best suits to the year 2005 as far as i am concerned, as i had no danger this year. BBye

Alexander, The great of Macedon.

Alexander as we all know,
came to Indus, 23 Centuries ago,
came from the land of Greece,
to wage war in place of making peace,
crushed the mighty persia,
married the Roxane of Bactria,
Before his soldiers were the final frontier,
India was the name,Porus was the border,
fierce battle fought in the midst of jungle,
as Greeks said, indians surrendered in jungle,
Before the Zeus's son, he did as a victor should do,
in return of that he got everything to do,
The taste of india soldiers soured the plan,
of going forward in the Ganges plains,
the munithy of his country men,
lead to initiate the journey to babylon,
where he lived an ordinary death,
No one ever had enetered in the Motherland,
without beaten and sent to his fatherland,
That was the glory of Indian land,
as greeks called us Amitrochates, o men.

The eyes are not here

As i promised that i will not probably write any article on cricket. So lets talk about philosophy. Yesterday i finished theAyn Rand's Fountain Head. This is really a must read book for any person who believes in living a LIFE. Well as my friends say that no body can predict my behaviour or nature. Today i am saying some thing and tommorrow i can say something quite opposite to that. Well as i believe that any statement or any action a person does is a function of time and the knowledge of that person at that time. As life is dynamic the person goes on gaining knowledge and thus his future decision can be quite opposite to his earlier decisions. Look at any great person and you will find reason behind these statements. Here i am not justifying myself as i dont believe in justifications.
Well in Fountain head i really admired the character of Howard Roark. That is a character of a man who believes that a person's ego read it as his self respect is above all other things in this world. As this is quite opposite of indian philosophy, which beleives in altruism, as written in our vedas and holy scripts,
"Sarve bhawantu sukhinah, sarve santu niramaya"
"Sarve bhadrani pashyantu, ma kaschid dukh bhag bhavet"
(All should remain happy, healthy. They should see the righteous and no body should feel the dejection)
But according to Rand, one must seek his happiness, one must not loose self respect in doing any sort of service. But all the religion in the world preaches the philosophy of altruism. Altruism is right to that extent only till the person does not loose his self respect. Absolute altruism can not be attained and if a person fails in that immediately at that extent he or she looses his or her self respect. He always feels that he is guilty of some sort, as preached by every religion that every person should believe in atruism and a person who does not do that he is a devil of some undefined order.
Why people believe in written rules and why they follow them, these rules are not written by so called GOD. They are written by God Damn man. Then why people afraid of going away from these rules, why they afraid of creating their own. I am not saying that one should start killing other people as all the good books tell us to love every other person. But what i am saying is why we believe blindly. The people who wrote these books themselves were not sure that the coming generations of the man kind would follow them blindly. As these are very controversial statements but i believe in them. Blind following of everything is just inhumane. Take any religion, every philospher/Prophet tried to do the things differently thats why they founded newer and newer religions. But now why people are stagnant in their thoughts. No body has an answer and if any body has do tell me.

Well Done Sourav

Last week we have seen enough action and the reason was Ganguly's expulsion. That was one of the saddest day of my life. I dont want to see Ganguly in a team whose team members dont repsect him. No point in playing again. You have done a lot and did a great service to this Fatherland. As i said earlier we had/have a tradition of treating our heroes in a special manner and you got the same treatment. So Go ahead with that one and enjoy the treatment.
I saw a plenty of indian cricket as i saw more than 300 ODI and more than 100 Test matches. But only two incidents has hurt me badly: The first one was India's defeat in the World Cup'96 Semifinal against Srilanka and the second one was Ganguly's expulsion.
I can recall few great knocks played by the INCOMPETENT Sourav Ganguly. They are not in any order of ranking.
1. 127 of 126 balls at Johannesberg in Oct, 2001 against mighty South Africans led by Pollock. In the first wicket partnership of 193 with Sachin, ganguly scored 127 runs and Sachin 60. He hitted 14 fours and 5 sixes all over the ground. One of the finest knock overseas. India lost the match.
2. 90 of 119 balls at Lords in september 2004 against England. India scored only 204 runs. He hitted 5 fours and 3 sixes. India won the heroic battle.
3. 141 of 144 balls at Adelaide in jan 2000 against Pakistan having bowling attack led by Wasim Akaram, Shoaib Akhtar and Saqlain Mustaq. India scored 264 and india won the match. That was the only match won by indian in Australia in 1999-00.
4. 85 off 95 balls at East London in 2001 against South Africans. He hitted 6 fours and 4 sixes in this inning. A brave effort. India lost the match.
5. 89 of 96 balls at Karachi in Pakistan in 1997. That was India's first victory in more than a decade in Pakistan.
6. 124 off 138 balls against Pakistan in Bangladesh in 1998. First team india chased more than 300 runs successfully and created the world that was broken some time later.
7. 153 off 150 balls against New Zealand in 1999. Indian score was only 261. We won the match.
8. 141 off 142 balls against South Africa in 2000, in Kenya, ICC Trophy. South Africa then had a bowling attack of Donald and Pollock. Ganguly smashed 6 sixes and 11 fours all around the stadium. We won convincingly.
9. 82 off 83 balls against mighty Australians in 2003 at Melbourne. India lost the match gravely.
10. Last but not the least important, 183 off 158 balls against Sri Lanka at Taunton in 1999 world Cup. he smashed 17 fours and 7 sixes and created a then world record partnership with Dravid.
Yet they say that he cant play fast bowling and they are honourable men. Well This is possibly my last blog dedicated to The Great Legend of Indian Cricket, Sourav Ganguly. I have no hope of seeing you playing again. Good Luck.

Good bye Mr. Ganguly, thats the way we treat our heroes

Good Bye Mr. Sourav Ganguly, "Team India" has no place for you. We are the country which celebrate the tradition and this is the tradition of celebrating our heroes. Why you are asking for special treatment? Indian team is not worthy enough. You found no place in team huddle in Kotla then why you are thinking to make a come back. I always admired your arrogance just say fuck off Team India. These guys who were no able to snatch a place in the team got the place because of you, as you believed in your vision of Team India and look at them what they did to you, These guys who didnt bother to visit you in you hotel room when you were axed. Why did you expect any thing from these mean fellows.
Dravid oops sorry "The Great Wall of India"
People say that he had become The wall much in 1999 but why they forget to see that this wall had scored 187 runs in 10 Test innings against quality bowling attack of Australia and South Africa in winters of 1999-2000. Yet Ganguly gave his full support. Ganguly could have done anything at that time. He could have not selected Dravid in team 11, but he did because he knew that Dravid is one of the greatest batsman ever produced by India. The same condition revisited team India with role reversed and the result also reversed. (Dravid didnt agrue for ganguly in selection)
Throughout his tenure he went on supporting his players because that was his duty. His player went on performing for him because that was their duty. Who can forget the Mike Dennis case, in which Ganguly aggressively took the side of Sachin and asked the Steve Waugh" To Shutup your mouth".
How can one forget how he supported Harbhajan during chucking allegations. But what he got, none of the players supported him when he was banned for 4 ODI due to bad overrate in Kolkata ODI against Pakistan. Its really shocking no body visited his room hotel day before yesterday.
You should take retirement from cricket let it remain as a BLACK SPOT on Indian Cricket, how they treated you. Thats the way to treat our heroes and thats the reason we had/have only one Ganguly. Can any body thought that why British media and Australian media always criticized ganguly, the only factor was his attitude. Good Luck Sourav for your all future endeavours.

BCCI is great: courtsey Indians

Well, its really nice to have comments written on this blog. I really admired each and every comment. Some fellow countrymen adviced me to use the knowlege possessed by me (They say so, not me) to use differently and i have to learn to use it. Very funny indeed. Well to tell them very frankly i know what is correct and what is wrong and please dont waste your time in teaching me the philosophy or any other thing about life. I dont give a damn shit to any body who tries to teach me what is wrong and what is right? To hell with them.
I called Dravid "The Brutus of India". Brutus was just great and Dravid is no more comparable to his status by compromising the politics. And yet i call him the "Brutus" and he is an honourable man.
What i think and what i believe i write in these blogs. Any body has a full freedom to have different view but according to me Dravid and Greg Chappel are equally responsible for Ganguly's exit apart from Board politics. Can any body tell me why Dravid not insisted to take Zaheer in place of Agarkar who bowled badly to the last limit. This is shear politics nothing else. If they want to make a future team then why they have given captainship to a veteran of 33 years, who will retire in 2-3 years? Why they have not given Captainship to much younger player in order to make future team India just like South Africa gave it to Smith? Why they are not axing Lakshman to include Kaif in order to build future Team India? No body has an answer. My best wishes with Team India for upcoming series against Pakistan and hope they will not meet with a disaster there.

Julius Ceaser revisited

Sourav is once again axed by great Indian selectors in spite of his two quality innings. Well it is not a new thing in India. These incident just reminds me a great play by the great Shakespeare, “Julius Ceaser”.
In Indian version of Shakespeare’s play Ganguly is the Ceaser himself. Dravid is Brutus, Greg Chappel is Cassius. Kiran More is the Cinna the conspirator. In this play there is no role for Sachin as he has no leadership quality (His captainship record is dismissal). In the beginning both Julius and Brutus won a large number of matches for India. They appeared in most of the partnership and they were just like great friends. Sourav always appreciated Rahul for his temperament and vice-versa. There were no ill feelings and everything was running fine. India i.e. Rome was winning so many victories in every other country. Then there was some quarrel with Kiran More the Cinna when Sourav sided with Abhijit Kale as Kale told media persons that More asked him for bribe in order to have a place in the team. More decided to teach Sourav a lesson in favorable time. Then came the Cassius i.e. Greg who was appointed as a coach of India with an advice from Sourav.
Now comes the true theme, Greg as Cassius did in the original play always used to say ill things about Sourav to Rahul. As Cassius was interested to rule over Rome so Greg wants to rule over the team. Rahul always considered Sourav as a great man. But as a great personality, Greg eventually succeeded in winning over Rahul to his side and then they both conspired against Sourav the Ceaser. Then came the immortal words from the Sourav “ET tu Rahul “then it’s indeed a time to fall Sourav. Sourav lost his place in the senate (i.e. in the Team). Greg and Rahul also tried so that Sourav can’t get a chance to play in Test as they voted against him. But again due to bad politics and fickle mind of Indian public (similar to Romans) they succeeded in throwing him out of the Test team.
In the original Julius Ceaser there was a character “Marcus Antonius” better known as Mark Antony who took the vengeance. But in India there is no Antony so Ceaser will always be assassinated and no lesson would be learned.
We Indian always follow others without thinking. The person who taught Indian team to fight and to win is himself fighting the battle of his survival.
I closely watched the progress of Indian Cricket from the first match I saw, a match in which Sachin thrashed legendry Qadir at a very young age of 15 years and many days. I will never forget when India toured Australia in 1999 and Australia media called Indian team as a team of coward Hindus and in that Series Ganguly was the only Indian player who scored 2 centuries against quality bowling of Pakistan and Australia.
You can throw out your hero without giving any reasons.
Ganguly scored 85 runs and Gambhir scored only 6 whereas Lakshman also scored 85 in this series against Sri Lanka and they are in the team. Ganguly you deserved better than you got. You will always remain as my Julius Ceaser, my ideal, my mentor and my inspirator.
“When cowards die there are no comets seen, Heaven blaze forth themselves at the death of princes".

Bharat ek Khoj

When i was a kid, i used to watch a serial named "Bharat Ek Khoj" directed by Shyam Benegal and telecasted by Doordarhan. Yesterday i went in a book shop and i saw a book "Discovery of India" by Pt. Nehru. The whole episodes of "Bharat Ek Khoj" just appeared before my eyes that time only. Such a great serial covering the history of india from the very beginning. Today i browsed the web to find the title and ending song of that very serial and i found that. I have the full song.
The lyrics are:

Srushtee se pehle sat nahin thaa, asat bhi nahinAntariksh bhi nahin, aakaash bhin nahin tha chhipaa thaa kyaa kahaan, kisne dekhaa thaaus pal to agam, atal jal bhi kahaan thaa
Shushtee kaa kaun hain kartaaKartaa hain yeh vaa akartaa Oonche aasmaan mein rahtaa Sadaaa adhyaksh banaa rahtaa Wohin sach much mein jaantaa..Yaa nahin bhi jaanataaHain kisi ko nahin pataa Nahin pataa
Voh tha hiranya garbh srishti se pehle vidyamaan, Vohi to saare bhoot jaat ka swami mahaan
jo hai astitvamaana dharti aasmaan dhaaran karAise kis devta ki upasana kare hum avi dekar Jis ke bal par tejomay hai ambar Prithvi hari bhari sthapit sthir Swarg aour sooraj bhi sthir
Aise kis devta ki upasana kare hum avi dekar
Garbh mein apne agni dhaaran kar paida kar Vyapa tha jal idhar udhar neeche uparJagaa chuke vo ka ekameva pran bankarAise kis devta ki upasana kare hum avi dekar
Om ! Srishti nirmata swarg rachayta purvaj rakhsa karSatya dharma palak atul jal niyamak raksha kar Phaili hain dishayen bahu jaisi uski sab mein sab parAisi hi devta ki upasana kare hum avi dekarAisi hi devta ki upasana kare hum avi dekar.

These are the great lines from the Rig Veda. The basic questions, humankind has been asking from very beginning. The answer remains the same " Nahin hai Pata".

The God of Indian Cricket

People call him by many names, The Boss, Tendua, Master Blaster, Batting Maestro or simply Sachin. Every time whenever he enters the ground to bat, the life in india goes on strike. Thats the passion of Indian people and thats the expectation of more than 1/6th of the human race, and he tries his best to live up to those expectations. Once again he played an inning of an exemplary courage and more over his inning motivated another legend of Indian cricket who is living dangerously in Team India. Congrats Sachin for your world record breaking inning.

The first match i watched on TV was the match in which Sachin hammered Abdul Kadir, a legendery spinner from pakistan some time in 1989. I was a mere kid then. Then I watched him playing in a ground just 300-400 meters from my home in kanpur. He played a great knock and i met him with my friends that time. Then came the series played in England in which he scored a great century by scoring a four on off side. England had placed 7 players in the slip. After that he scored innings of great show in Australia in 1991-92 in Benson Hedges Series. India got a 4-0 defeat in 5 test matche series. From 1989 to 2005 i watched some very great innings played by him. Who will forget the inning of 136 played by him in 1999 test series against pakistan at chennai or who can forget the inning of 114 played at perth against Australia when he was just 18.
I used to bunk classes in order to just see the innings of Sachin Tendulkar. One incident i remember. In 1996 World cup, india was playing against Srilanka at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi. I was in my school. When i got to know that india was batting then i along with Anurag decided to asked the Principal to give us a break as Sachin was playing. She immediately did the same. Such is the attitude of indian people when cricket and sachin comes. People forget their work the life goes on strike when sachin comes.
Siddhu one said that in India you can question Prime Minister but not Sachin. He is un questionable and some believe he is immortal. The only indian thing who keep india united irrespective of so many problems.
Hail Sachin, hail india, Long Live sachin Long live Indian Cricket.

Varanasi, the living legend.

Its really amazing to look back at your past from a distance and then analyze what you had experienced, enjoyed, conquered, lost and loved in those times. I enjoyed my time in my college to every limit of enjoyment.
After studying for 4 great years in Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University I can proudly say that I studied in a culture, I studied in a living tradition and I can say that I lived a life. I am not sorry if any other has any other opinion. There are many things to tell but two things that happened to me and influenced my life till now are none other than the spirit of Varanasi and my seniors.
My College is among very few colleges who have proper chapters of SPICMACAY. SPICMACAY stands for Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth. A cultural movement started in 1979 please forgive me if I am wrong. ITBHU used to organize cultural activities related to SPICMACAY throughout the academic session.
When I was in my first year, i.e. in 2001-2002, I used to participate with full enthusiasm in all college activities. That time I met with a guy from 4th year mechanical, his name was Somesh. He was organizing the cultural festival known as VIRASAT related to SPICMACAY that year. His never say no attitude and his dedication towards work was exemplary and only few guys were comparable to him that time. One such guy was Animesh whom I always looked for help of any sort any time and he always helped me in all possible ways he can. I am indebted to both of them.

Lewis carrol once said that Varanasi is older than the civilsation and it is very true to the last limit. I can never forget those ghats, more than 100 in number, the temples of Varanasi and the historical place of Sarnath. The ancient site of Sarnath, the stupa have been singing the songs of Indian civilization for more than 2200 years. These ancient monuments can inspire any body. I got a rare chance to touch the Lion Capital of Ashoka (National Emblem). In doing so I broke the law of the muesum but I am not sorry for that.
This is the celebration of having been born an Indian. The celebration of living in India and the celebration of living in Varanasi.

The QUEST

The QUEST, the most important word human civilization can ever know. The QUEST to get some thing that can make us more powerful was the mantra of world’s greatest civilization and it is still the same. Here I tried to compare the QUEST of two greatest emperors world had ever known. Both lived within a span of some 100 years, many centuries before Christ. (Alexander 321BC, Ashoka 263BC)
Alexander came from very far some 2300 years ago and conquered great part of earth at a very early age and he reached at the banks of river Indus and its tributaries only to return back to his new capital of Babylon. The unconquerable was not able to conquer his destiny and he was not able to see his native land, the land from where he came and destroyed the greatest empire of Persia world has ever seen. But what he had achieved in his quest, a great empire which was prone to be destroyed by Sandracattus and later Persian kings.
Ashoka, world’s greatest emperor was a son of a not so great emperor Bindusara. He also had a feeling of QUEST like Alexander, and he did the same but Ashoka was very fortunate to realize the ultimate aim of the life. After the infamous battle of Kalinga he gave up everything and adopted the mantra of Buddham Sharnam Gachhami.
As it is very clear both wanted to conquer the whole world by power and they were quite successful in their aims but not fully successful. One was stopped by his own death and the other was stopped by others death. Life is too short to conquer the world by sword. One can only conquer by love and wisdom and later Ashoka did the same.
So the world should make QUEST of winning the world by love not by shear power. History has given us such a beautiful example in Asoka and Alexander and will go giving such example of QUEST.

Indian Railways

In this article I want to tell you my experiences with Indian railways. But first of all I want to tell some history of Indian railways. The Indian Railways first started in India in 1853 AD under the Viceroy ship of Lord Dalhousie. First train in Asian history covered a small distance of some 20-30 kms from Mumbai to Thane. This was the beginning of a great tradition. In the past 152 years this network has made a noteworthy progress.
Now let me tell you my own experiences with Indian railways.
The first experience:
After enjoying my Diwali vacation I was returning Noida from my home town (Kanpur). I had a reservation in Unchahar express but was not able to pick that train. So I had to look for another train, ShramShakti express. So I took the ticket and sat on the platform waiting for the train. The train came and somehow I was able to get a seat in the train in general compartment. Then some policemen came and asked me to immediately get out of the train. I protested then they asked me to give 50 rupee to remain in that seat. I agreed after many verbal assaults. Then I saw that they occupied the gate of the coach and then they stopped other people from entering in the coach. They said to them if they want to get inside then they have to pay 50 rupee each. Some passengers agreed some didn’t. I was busy in my own thoughts, such a great country and such rubbish policemen of the country. I decided to teach them a lesson but I had no proof. I looked at them and scanned them for some identity but none of them had any name plates. They had removed their name badges. But then I looked at their rifles and I saw a number. I haven’t told that number to any body. The number was Cnb rld/20.
That was my first bad experience of Indian railways.

The second experience:
This experience is very recent. I was going home i.e. Kanpur from Noida. I had a reservation in Unchahar express. When I reached the station I came to know that that train was cancelled. That came as a shock to me. I enquired with the Officer in charge. He told me that you can only get you money back that’s all. I was astonished but I was in a hopeless situation. So i got my money back then I saw some person selling sleeper ticket of another train going to Kanpur. I bought the ticket and some how I reached my home. When I was returning Noida again I had reservation in Unchahar express. This time it was not canceled but it came 5 hrs late, and when my reached my destination it was more than 7 hrs behind of its schedule.
Such were my experiences with Indian railways within a month. But who cares. But I think some body has to do the dirty work of cleaning the dirt.
If we are not a part of solution then we are a problem.

World AIDS Day

Friends, Indians and countrymen, lend me your minds, let me write some thing very important than the other very important things.
World celebrate 01 Dec each year as World AIDS day. AIDS is the most dangerous disease ever known in the history of man kind. Scientist are trying their level best to find some drug so that this desease can be cured. We can only hope for the best.
Origin of the desease
No body knows exact origin of this desease. Most of the people think that it has come from green monkey, a species of monkey found in Africa (in last quarter of 20th century). Some human must have done the dirty work. Some indian scholars believe that this desease was known and cured in ancient india. In those times it was known by the name "OJO KSHAYAH". Its curing procedure is written in our sacred books but to it is near to impossible to decipher the names of the herbs and shrubs as written in those books.

Present Status
Currently the continent of Africa is the worst AIDS effected area. Very poor countries of the world have some very high percentage of AIDS patients. The 20-25% population of countries like South Africa and Zimbawbe is AIDS infected. In India this percentage is around 1%. Altough the % is quite low but due to large population , the total number of AIDS infected people id India are much larger.

What we should do?
Being human i.e. the wise man, its about moral responsibility to help each other in curing human kind from this suffering. We should spread AIDS aware ness to our neighbour hood and to as far as we can. We should also not misbehave with AIDS infected person. We should not feel him isolated, otherwise there may be some dangerous results. The best cure is to have confidence in one's partner and to always go for safe sex. We shoule go all out in removing this desease from this great blue planet.
"Remember one thing, together we can and we will make a difference"
