Indian Railways

In this article I want to tell you my experiences with Indian railways. But first of all I want to tell some history of Indian railways. The Indian Railways first started in India in 1853 AD under the Viceroy ship of Lord Dalhousie. First train in Asian history covered a small distance of some 20-30 kms from Mumbai to Thane. This was the beginning of a great tradition. In the past 152 years this network has made a noteworthy progress.
Now let me tell you my own experiences with Indian railways.
The first experience:
After enjoying my Diwali vacation I was returning Noida from my home town (Kanpur). I had a reservation in Unchahar express but was not able to pick that train. So I had to look for another train, ShramShakti express. So I took the ticket and sat on the platform waiting for the train. The train came and somehow I was able to get a seat in the train in general compartment. Then some policemen came and asked me to immediately get out of the train. I protested then they asked me to give 50 rupee to remain in that seat. I agreed after many verbal assaults. Then I saw that they occupied the gate of the coach and then they stopped other people from entering in the coach. They said to them if they want to get inside then they have to pay 50 rupee each. Some passengers agreed some didn’t. I was busy in my own thoughts, such a great country and such rubbish policemen of the country. I decided to teach them a lesson but I had no proof. I looked at them and scanned them for some identity but none of them had any name plates. They had removed their name badges. But then I looked at their rifles and I saw a number. I haven’t told that number to any body. The number was Cnb rld/20.
That was my first bad experience of Indian railways.

The second experience:
This experience is very recent. I was going home i.e. Kanpur from Noida. I had a reservation in Unchahar express. When I reached the station I came to know that that train was cancelled. That came as a shock to me. I enquired with the Officer in charge. He told me that you can only get you money back that’s all. I was astonished but I was in a hopeless situation. So i got my money back then I saw some person selling sleeper ticket of another train going to Kanpur. I bought the ticket and some how I reached my home. When I was returning Noida again I had reservation in Unchahar express. This time it was not canceled but it came 5 hrs late, and when my reached my destination it was more than 7 hrs behind of its schedule.
Such were my experiences with Indian railways within a month. But who cares. But I think some body has to do the dirty work of cleaning the dirt.
If we are not a part of solution then we are a problem.
