Sourav is once again axed by great Indian selectors in spite of his two quality innings. Well it is not a new thing in India. These incident just reminds me a great play by the great Shakespeare, “Julius Ceaser”.
In Indian version of Shakespeare’s play Ganguly is the Ceaser himself. Dravid is Brutus, Greg Chappel is Cassius. Kiran More is the Cinna the conspirator. In this play there is no role for Sachin as he has no leadership quality (His captainship record is dismissal). In the beginning both Julius and Brutus won a large number of matches for India. They appeared in most of the partnership and they were just like great friends. Sourav always appreciated Rahul for his temperament and vice-versa. There were no ill feelings and everything was running fine. India i.e. Rome was winning so many victories in every other country. Then there was some quarrel with Kiran More the Cinna when Sourav sided with Abhijit Kale as Kale told media persons that More asked him for bribe in order to have a place in the team. More decided to teach Sourav a lesson in favorable time. Then came the Cassius i.e. Greg who was appointed as a coach of India with an advice from Sourav.
Now comes the true theme, Greg as Cassius did in the original play always used to say ill things about Sourav to Rahul. As Cassius was interested to rule over Rome so Greg wants to rule over the team. Rahul always considered Sourav as a great man. But as a great personality, Greg eventually succeeded in winning over Rahul to his side and then they both conspired against Sourav the Ceaser. Then came the immortal words from the Sourav “ET tu Rahul “then it’s indeed a time to fall Sourav. Sourav lost his place in the senate (i.e. in the Team). Greg and Rahul also tried so that Sourav can’t get a chance to play in Test as they voted against him. But again due to bad politics and fickle mind of Indian public (similar to Romans) they succeeded in throwing him out of the Test team.
In the original Julius Ceaser there was a character “Marcus Antonius” better known as Mark Antony who took the vengeance. But in India there is no Antony so Ceaser will always be assassinated and no lesson would be learned.
We Indian always follow others without thinking. The person who taught Indian team to fight and to win is himself fighting the battle of his survival.
I closely watched the progress of Indian Cricket from the first match I saw, a match in which Sachin thrashed legendry Qadir at a very young age of 15 years and many days. I will never forget when India toured Australia in 1999 and Australia media called Indian team as a team of coward Hindus and in that Series Ganguly was the only Indian player who scored 2 centuries against quality bowling of Pakistan and Australia.
You can throw out your hero without giving any reasons.
Ganguly scored 85 runs and Gambhir scored only 6 whereas Lakshman also scored 85 in this series against Sri Lanka and they are in the team. Ganguly you deserved better than you got. You will always remain as my Julius Ceaser, my ideal, my mentor and my inspirator.
“When cowards die there are no comets seen, Heaven blaze forth themselves at the death of princes".

what happened with ganguly is wrong and there is no doubt about it, I think politics has overpowered sport.
thats fine.....but never call Dravid as Brutus....you only defend Indian team when Ganguly is in.....what happened to him is wrong and you and everybody knew it......it was bound to happen that he was to be dropped in the 3rd test....
Wonderful work neeraj !!!
Really its embarrasing.
Chappel was selected to make team india but he ruined it. i think team india will not go west Indies to play worldcup but mumbai team will go.. with some dogs of Chappel. Sehwag u may be the next target of Chappel.
hey what has happened is wrong, but I do not think chappel is cassius. Rather, I think players are just pawns on board played between Dalmiya and Pawar. That is why Jaffer (from maharashtra) is getting chance.
ok mr. shakespeare...as a selector what ud u have done...i agree the selectors have gone a li'l too far with their politics...alrite...but i tell u what...CONTROVERSY was inevitable...i ud have retained ganguly...surely..but with sehwag back,he udnt hav found place in the 11...evn in that case there ud hav been brouhaha...n if they had to play him...there was only one place up for grabs...the opening spot...if he had failed there...all hell ud hav broken loose on chappel n dravid...selectors can save their faces only if jaffer plays...else it ud be egg on their faces if they hav to recall ganguly in series agnst pak n eng...n there is no proof that dravid n chappel r involved in this...n if they wantd gangu out, maybe that was coz they really wantd an opener...im jst speculatng like u...jst coz u'v read abt julius ceaser dsnt mean u start showng it in public by grabbng baseless analogies...u can do better than that with the knowledge u have jadaun...maybe u jst need to learn how to use it...n maybe u jst need to realise that u r also a mere mortal who can make mistakes....

Bhai Sahab I think u have forgot the histoy. Pathan joined team india as an allrounder. He was a very good all rounder in under 19 team and performed very well against australia just after joining team. so Chappel did nothing for Pathan. I think u have forgot the statement of wasim Akram regarding Pathan.
or yadi Yuvraj ki baat hai to saayad aap ye bhi bhool gaye ki yuvraj ko kisne banaya hai. Ganguly ne apne interview me bahut bar bola tha ki he is very talented and thats why i m giving him chances again n again. one year after he(yuvi) joined team he was out of performance and media was blaming ganguly that he is supporting Yuvraj and giving him more chances than a normal player gets. in responce to that Ganguly told that i know his talent and one day he will do better. so the whole credit of Yuvi's performance goes to Ganguly and John Write not this bullsit Chappel and Dravid.
and if u r favouring Chappel than i want to ask the reason behind shameful defeat by 10 wicket in kolkata.
i want to say --be ready to see another big defeat of indian team in pakistan.
