The movies this week

Sorry for such a long hiatus. I am again back with the reviews:

1. Gulal (2009)
Being a Rajput, i had a special inclination towards this movie. But this movie disappointed me. I was expecting a better show from the makers of "Black Friday". The movie is good in bits and pieces. Piyush Mishra acted brilliantly. Lyrics are quite original while music is just ordinary. 6/10.
2. The man who shot liberty valance (1962)
To see Lee Marvin, John Wayne and James Stewart in a single movie is quite an achievement. Its about the "to spread civilization" mission of James Stewart in a western country. 7/10.
3. The Shootist (1976)
Its the last movie of legendary John Wayne and quite an interesting one. 6/10.
4. Dead Man (1995)
Its a Johnny Depp movie. Its about the process of becoming a bad man. The Indian "Gary Farmer" acted brilliantly. 6/10.
5. Ride the High Country (1962)
Another normal Western flick. 6/10.
6. Planet of Apes 1-5 (1968-73)
Its a sci-fi master piece. I enjoyed it very much and could not stop myself to watch the entire series of movies in a single day. This movie raises very serious questions on the very existence of "The Human Civilisation". 8/10.
