Book Review [174] : Surrounded By Idiots

A beautiful 'Book Fair' was organised in this year's Exhibition (also called Numaish) in Aligarh in Feb. I bought about a dozen books in this fair. 'Surrounded by Idiots' by Thomas Erikson came as a highly recommended book by the shopkeeper.

This book is basically a study on the personality traits/types and how to converse with them, how to manage them and how to deal with them. As per the book there are 4 types of persons:

    1. Red (Dominant, Aggresive, Egoist)

    2. Yellow (Extrovert, Talkative, Egotist)

    3. Green (Submissive, Quiet, Worker, Introvert)

    4. Blue (Perfectionist, Analytical worker, Introvert)

I don't know whether its correct to compartmentalise people or not but in a way this books gives certain ideas about behavioural aspects of people.

The title of the book is a kind of misnomer.

Wish you all a very happy Holi. May this festival bring lot of happiness and colour in your lives.

17. Stress Responses
Each personality reacts differently under stress. For example, Reds may become aggressive, Yellows might avoid issues, Greens may retreat, and Blues might overanalyze. Recognizing these patterns helps diffuse tensions.
